DNS

The router answers the names your devices look up, blocks the ones on its lists, and asks the rest onwards. The page opens on a sentence — "Today 12,400 questions, 2,310 blocked as ads and trackers. Asked onwards encrypted, through Cloudflare and Quad9 — both answering well." — then the tabs Today, Blocking, Names here and Settings.

Today

Answered, blocked, and how fast; the names blocked most today, each opening which devices asked for it; the devices asking most. Counted from the lookups logged since midnight.

When lookups are not logged there is nothing to count, and the page says so: Log for today only (off again at midnight), or Log from now on. The log is emptied every midnight, and when it passes 200 MB: it is a record of every name every device asked for, so no older copies are kept.

Blocking

Lists of names to block, such as ads and trackers. A blocked name gets "no such name". Lists are switched on and off and refreshed here, and take effect within a second. The household page's Let ads through sets them aside for fifteen minutes.

Names here

Local names the router answers itself, such as a printer's, or the panel's own name in your domain. panel and the machine's own name are always answered, with the router's address.

Settings

The settings as rows that open the editor, how each server it asks onwards is answering, and restarting the resolver.

Encrypted DNS: Install encrypted DNS, then switch it on. The router then asks Cloudflare and Quad9 over HTTPS, with no cache and no log there. If both stop answering, it asks your provider's servers in plain until they answer again, and the page says which it uses.

Changes to the settings wait to be kept. Logging does not: it cannot cut you off.
